3D Printers
- 3D printing policies will be modified based on the amount of filament used. Please see the diagram below for new procedural changes:
- For academic related prints, the form for faculty members to fill out is – https://forms.office.com/r/kEGYb7PrNV
- For prints between 25-50 m, a design review between the advising faculty member and the student needs to be performed. This is the same policy used in past years.
- For prints larger than 50 m, an interdepartmental transfer will be performed. When completing the form, one should be prepared with:
- Student Name
- Student NetID
- Gcode filename
- Estimated filament usage (m)
- Account Numbers
- The form will need to be completed by faculty for each individual print. For cases in which many students are assigned large prints as coursework, please contact us directly at IngramMakerspace@txstate.edu for bulk purchasing
- For 3D prints for student personal projects, please advise students to purchase filament through the makerspace online store
- Do not use this method for any academic related prints, business office will not be able to reimburse you
- For 3D printing purchases, the cost is $0.07 per meter of filament which is the direct consumable cost.
-
RPM Equipment
- Users must check out any and all equipment from the front desk.
- Users cannot use equipment they have not completed the training on.
